Label tape can be bought separately (and comes in different colours and materials to suit different putposes). It is very easy to refill and this label maker uses thermal technology to mark the tape with the font you have chosen. You just click the button at the side to cut the tape once the font has printed and the backing is split in two to make it easy to peel off. It runs on 4 AA batteries.
